nxserver issue while logging

When logging on to Linux server via NoMachine, user may see a window
Quote
The remote proxy closed the connection while negotiating the session. This may be due to the wrong authentication credentials passed to the server

There can be several reasons for this message. Log in to the Linux host and make sure the /etc/hosts file has 127.0.0.1 entry.
Next go to user home directory and then cd in to .nx.
Clear out all the old session directories. They will be something like this:
F-C-SOMEHOST.example.com-1020-74F83FC3924866E0B7D27635977CFE16
F-C-SOMEHOST.example.com-1003-862B332B4E08DD2C1315E50D600EB044
Before clearing out the sessions directories, go to the most recent one, and
Code:
more session
If the output is some thing like this
Error: Aborting session with 'Could not create lock file in /tmp/.tX1020-lock'.
Session: Aborting session at 'Jan 27 11:08:40 2011'.
Session: Session aborted at 'Jan 27 11:08:40 2011'.

Then check the permission on /tmp. It should be like this
drwxrwxrwt 9 root root 4096 Jan 27 11:28 /tmp/

If not then change it like this

chmod 1777 /tmp

cool, so this is a potential solution, right? you've no specific problem for us to help with?

Oh, this is actually a verbatim post from another forum... hmmm. You don't look like a spammer, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt here, but this is really NOT what LQ.org is for.
