NX Incompatability Problems
I need to access a remote window system that is non-functional. Problems with the hard drive. So have been successfully using Knoppix CD for many fixes and it has an NX server.
Now here is the problem. I downloaded the NX client from NoMachine web side and installed it on my Fedora Core 6 system. I then booted a spare system on Knoppix and attempted to connect from my Core 6 system.
Bottom line I did connect but then it failed with a problem that is documented. Problem is that the NX server version on the latest Knoppix CD is not compatable with the latest NX client downloaded from NoMachine.
I can't install the latest NX server on the windows machine, it is non-functional. So must use the Knoppix CD. Also remote machine is 200 miles away. So that is not an option.
So does anyone know where I can find an older NX client that might be compatable with the older NX server available in RPM format?
I have considered booting my Core 6 system with Knoppix but not excited about that for several reasons.
Any suggestions??
