Nvidia/GLX Problem after upgrade

I had Slackware 9.0 running fine with Nvidia drivers, even my fav game Tribes2 ran great :D
Then I decided to try using swaret to upgrade all my packages. Seemed like everything went fine, some packages failed to download but I assumed they werent needed. If I ran swaret --upgrade again it said all my packages were already upgraded.

But now if I try to run Tribes2 xserver crashs
"Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11. Server aborting"

I checked my XFree86.0.log and found
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to load GLX
(II) NVIDIA(0): Using the NVIDIA 2D acceleration architecture

Did swaret maybe upgrade glx and now its not compatible with the nvidia drivers? Or worst swaret somehow messed up GLX... Ive got no clue how to fix this please help

Also I made a quick webpage with my entire XF86Config and XFree86.0.log at hxxp://www33.brinkster.com/darcon3k (sorry 1st post so can't use hyperlinks)

And I had a 2nd question, whats the right #VideoRam setting for a Geforce4 4200 128mb in the device section of XF86Config? I"ve got it set at 0 (so it probes it)...is it fine to just leave it like that or should it be hard coded?

I think the nvidia drivers replaces some of the gl libraries which may have subsequently been replaced by swaret. Have you reinstalled the nvidia drivers again?

Reinstalling the nvidia drivers fixed the problem, but in order to do that I had to recompile my kernel (first time :D )using the updated gcc compiler. Recompiling the kernel was easy thanks the the nice tutorial by DaOne. But now sound and network doesnt work... 1 problem solved and 2 created lol

k now ive fixed network and kinda fixed sound by compiling the right support in my kernel.
xmms, mplayer, kde start sound work fine... but when I try starting tribes2 i get no sound. Then when I exit it says

open /dev/dsp: Device or resource busy

How can I make it not busy?

try killing artsd if it is running. to see if it is running do "ps -a" and to kill it do "pkill artsd"

dont have artsd running, but now the problem seems to have gone away by itself  Oh well, as long as tribes2 works im happy

hmmm, I just ran the Nvidia installer....but now it says that there is no

Precompiled kernel interface to match my kernel, and that is what's giving me trouble, what to do?
