Now using Ubuntu 9.04 - adding dual boot w/XP what is the best way to do it?

I need to use Windows XP programs. I have XP already as a Virtual machine in Ubuntu 9.04. I tried this first, instead of doing a dual boot, but I need to use more features of XP, and some things just don't work completely as it is.

Since Ubuntu is the OS that is running now. What is the best way to set up a dual boot? I'm not opposed to wiping everything clean and starting from there. I just want it to be done right.

Thanks
