Notification Area in GNOME 2.4

The icons in the notification area in GNOME 2.4 appear incomplete (only about a pixel of width). You can view the screenshot at :

Notice that the notification area with aMSN dock is in the top-ight corner: to the right of [ - Chat ] and to the left of the Workspace Switcher .

Any ideas about what it could be? Any help appreciated.
