Not supported by RH 9?

Was looking forward to upgrading to Red Hat 9 (really wanted to get Open Office) from RH 6.2 and 7.2. But after seeming to load on two different machines the following error message pops up on both machines;

"YOU ARE TRYING TO INSTALL ON A MACHINE WHICH ISN'T SUPPORTED BY THIS RELEASE OF RED HAT LINUX."

I have a Pentium 200MHZ with 96k RAM & 8 Gig HD, and a K6 133MHZ with 64k RAM and 3 Gig HD.

Am wondering what's the problem?

Red Hat 9 requirements

The Red Hat install may be objecting the memory size:

Or it might be objecting to the video card or some such:

I think they are probably trying to be nice to you. I had a 133 mhz machine a few years ago that I bought for $50 (64 MB RAM) that was a dog for on redhat 7.2. I upgraded for < $300 at that time to an AMD 1200 (a case, a mother board, CPU, memory 256 MB). Everything else I salvaged from my old machine. I'ld upgrade if you want a little better performance for your hands on machine. (Either buy what you need to build your own system or buy someone's used system.) Certainly the old machines are still useful, but relegate them to router or file server applications with a minimal install. That is, if you want the newest. greatest, memory hog software. If you just want a good word processor, try abiword and keep your old machines.

The problem is your processor ...I upgraded my hardware a few weeks back and my RH7.3 would not load. I dont remember the exact details but if you check redhat.com HCL (Hardware Compatibily List...sp) I sure your two processor will not be listed
