noobie question about file placement
 

I want to insatll the ndiswrapper where would the best place to put the files?

The "make install" step will install the files in various places under the /usr hierarchy. You could supply an option to use the base directory of "/usr/local/" if you wanted to. Many of the files will be placed in the kernel module source tree regardless.
