Noob terminal question


uhh using ubuntu 5.10 how do u make a space when ur typing something in the terminal. for example, when u put media/windows/program files it cant read anything after the space that comes after "program" so is there anything u write in the terminal to replace the space?

You can either

1. Use quotes, e.g.

$ cd "/media/windows/Program Files",

or

2. Use a \, e.g.

$ cd /media/windows/Program\ Files.

Also, you should be able to use tab completion. You'd type the beginning, eg. "cd /media/windows/Pr" then press the tab key and it should fill in the rest for you. That'll only work if there's only one directory/file starting with "Pr".
