Nokia N800 and dial up accounts with cell phone or bluetooth modem

Does anybody know if it's possible to use and account like 650dialup or netzero, then access that account using a cell and use it like a modem (buetooth) to interface with the Nokia N800. Why? to bypass the $60/mo verizon gets on top of your phone bill to use it like a modem.

OR

Anyone uses one of those bluetooth DUN modems successfully with the N800

Yes, it's possible, and I used to do the very same thing. The difficult part is getting your phone paired up with your computer, and opening the rfcomm channel. Once that device is created, you can either set up a symlink to /dev/modem from /dev/rfcommxxx, or just set your PPP dialer up to use the rfcomm device.

After that, it's no different from a land-line modem.
