Noatun won't play mp3s

I'm on Redhat 8 and noatun won't play mp3s. I have the mp3 fix, xmms works fine. It's just Noatun, I can play .wavs and .ogg, but not mp3s. I don't get any error messages when I run from console. Any ideas?
