No video from Xine under SuSE 9.1
 

I just upgraded to SuSE 9.1 from 9.0 and I am having a hell of a time with video players. I am trying to use Xine to view all the movies that I used to be able to view with Xine. Unfortunately, .wmv and .mov files don't play at all, and avi's and mpeg's only have sound, no video. I did read about the codec issue with quicktime and windows media and installed the codecs from mplayer, but still cannot play those files. As for the avi's and the mpeg's, I have no idea why these will not play.

I have tried to install MPlayer with no luck whatsover (either with or without the gui), and this situation is getting extremely frustrating. I had no problems with the older versions of xine and related players (ie. totem and kaffeine), but now, nothing works.

Has anyone been able to install MPlayer(1.0pre4) in SuSE 9.1? Or have you gotten xine working?

What video card and xfree version are you running?
I have heard alot of woes over some ati cards and xfree4.4, also xorg.
