no valid devices were found.....

I have a Dell box that's preconfigured with Windows XP. I need to install Red Hat Advanced Server instead... SCSI drives.

When running the installer, I come to the part where you partition everything.. using Druid. I get the following message

"An error has occurred - no valid devices were found on which to create new filesystems"

My first thought is that I'm missing the drivers. I'm not sure how to get them on there though.

Any ideas... or maybe I'm looking in the wrong direction?

Thanks
Joe

What SCSI controller do you have? Did you check to see if it is supported by Linux? If not you might need to find a module (driver) for it and load it in the beginning of the install.

I'm just about 100% certain it works with Linux, but I'm double checking with Dell to be sure.

The controller is:
LSI Logic 1020/1030 Ultra320 SCSI Adapter

It looks like I need to have the mptfusionh driver, and not as a module, but compiled into the kernel.... I'm going to go with that and hopefully that'll get it working.
Thanks
Joe
