No suitable decoder module for XVID
I use Fedora 10.
Whenever I try to play avi files using vlc (version 0.9.9) I get the following error.
"No suitable decoder module: VLC does not support the audio or video format "XVID". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this."
What could be the possible problem and how can I solve it?

I believe vlc relies of ffmpeg for xvid decoding, so you should make sure you have that installed.

How can I make that sure?
I installed vlc by doing 'yum install vlc'. Does not this ensure that the required codecs are also installed automatically?

'yum repolist' gave the following ouput:
Code:
Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit
repo id repo name status
adobe-linux-i386 Adobe Systems Incorporated enabled : 17
fedora Fedora 10 - i386 enabled : 11,416
rpmfusion-free RPM Fusion for Fedora 10 - Free enabled : 324
rpmfusion-free-updat RPM Fusion for Fedora 10 - Free - Update enabled : 709
updates Fedora 10 - i386 - Updates enabled : 5,182
repolist: 17,648
I can't find any traces of 'rawhide' or 'testing'

Thanks for the support.
