No Sound with Pulseaudio on Intel HDA STAC92xx

I've tried doing what many other guides say, but sound still does not work. When I monitor internal volume, however, and play audio I can see whatever is playing, but I still can't hear it. I think this may have to do with the sound card though, because when I attempted to defer Pulseaudio below my soundcard in system settings, it reported that the card was not working and dropped back to pulseaudio. How can I fix pulseaudio? Or, if it's the soundcard, how would I fix that?

Thanks in Advance,
KenjiKinya

What Linux distribution are you using? Some provide you with a sound test that allows you to troubleshoot your sound system.

Could you provide some information to help people in the forum to better answer your question? Such as what sound card driver your system is using, what window manager you are using, and what sound mixer you are using. Sometimes, sound problems are as simple as not having the right settings on the mixer, or having muted the sound output to the speakers.

You can get driver information by finding the output for the soundcard with the command:

Code:
> sudo lspci -vv
