For the time I have no options but to use onboard sound, but I don't think that's what's the matter here. I am using a VIA chipset, too.
I'm going to buy a SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 card when I get $30 sometime soon..
Anyways, I'm coming to think it's a codec I need maybe.. I can hear sound on
some avi and wmv files, but on
most I can't.
I did install the win32codecs.tar.bz2 and that allows me to play the video portion now, though.
