No Lyrics in Amarok 2.2

Amarok 2 added a lyrics panel. Current version: Amarok 2.2 (kubuntu karmic).

I have never been able to get any lyrics to display. Once in awhile, the lyrics panel displays "*/", but that's all I get. I tried very popular songs (e.g. More Than A Feeling - Boston) and even looked it up on lyricwiki and verified that it was there.

When I switch to this track from another in the playlist, a message:
"Lyrics being fetched"
appears for a moment.

In Tools->Script Manager, Lyricwiki has a check in front of it.

The Wikipedia tab does work (proves I'm online). And, for this song, I checked the id3 tags to make sure they looked right.

How do I debug this?

TIA

Joe

I don't know very much about it, but did you try another lyrics-plugin for Amarok??? (I know there are more stuff like this)

What you also can do is starting Amarok from a Graphical Shell (like Konsole) by typing its name and pressing ENTER, and then try to play a file, and wait for the lyrics:: look for errors in the output of the shell and/or post the (last) part of the output here...

Thank you

Terminal messages

Thanks. Good idea. I started amarok in konsole, searched my library for "More Than A Feeling", dragged it to the play list, and clicked on play. It tried to load lyrics and showed me a blank lyrics panel. I let it play a few seconds, stopped play, and quit amarok. Below is what I got.

(I did not run amarok with the debug parameter.)

Any ideas appreciated.

TIA

Joe

P.S. I'll look into other lyrics plugins.

P.P.S. Earlier, I was running a big torrent that ate up all of my bandwidth. When I tried amarok under these conditions, I got:

Code:
Could not download lyrics.
Please check your internet connection.
Error message:

So it was trying to go to the Internet to do something.

Cool

Try indeed another lyrics-plugin, then we'll know if the problem is based in the plugin, or in the Amarok-player itself....
(I'm not an expert in that kind of things, but maybe there are other people who wants to help also, and all together, we'll find a solution)...

I just installed Ultimate Lyrics and that works. So, it's probably the lyricwiki plugin.

So, I'm happy for now, but I'd still like to know what's wrong.
