no HDMI audio and A10-6500k Ubuntu 12.04

I have tried so many things and can't get this to work. I am using the AMD A10-6500k on a ASRock FM2A88X-ITX+ Motherboard. I have installed multiple versions of the AMD Catalyst Propietary driver and no matter what I do I cannot get Ubuntu to recognize my sound device. Here is some relevant info.

aplay -l

Have you run alsamixer and checked if outputs are muted or volumes too low?

2) what do you mean by sound device? analog speaker analog headphone socket or hdmi sound?

pls show output for
Code:
aplay -L

hi

if this is you?
http://askubuntu.com/questions/38095...3-10-a10-6500k

you might like to know how to enable hdmi?

run alsamixer in a terminal and press m to mute then unmute the SPDIF channel
use the right arrow to get to it (->)

If you want hdmi to be default sound output device then read on

Code:
cat /proc/asound/pcm
input a number into this formula and save the file locally under your name as (note the leading dot) .asoundrc

Quote:
pcm.!default {
type hw
card 0
device <number>
}
this number is more likely to be 3 or 5 and not showing in aplay -l
