No Gxine/MP3 w/Puppy Live?

Hi all,

I was running Puppy 1.06 & was impressed w/it's speed. I plugged it into my network & got that configured ok.

Tried playing a video file from the network & that runs (though somewhat choppy)- I don't intend to play full video files on this machine anyway. It's an old Dell P2-450 w/256mb ram.

However, I do have music on while I work & this just doesn't work? I know the files I'm attempting to play are ok & they play in other distros. Gxine opens & I see a flash as it attempts to play- then it just dies. The MP3 title is in the little Gxine player window- but that's as far as I get? It isn't locked up, because I can immediately choose a video file & it runs.

Ideas?

Tracy
