Question no grub keys

Does anyone have any suggestions about where to even start solving this one.

Everything seems to work fine except grub won't accept a key stroke or a mouse click -- most of the time.

I can boot if I let grub time out. But, if I <ENTER> or <e> or click, grub freezes and I have to reboot cold.

I have Red Hat 9.0, completely up2dated, and I am running grub from my /boot partition. The grub-config file seems accurate so before I start attaching config files and boot logs, maybe someone has seen this problem before and can tell me how to go about solving it.

I don't mind the personal detective work.

Thanks in advance.

It isn't clear what your problem could be without more information.

I install grub to the mbr, myself.

Thanks to fancypiper;

But I think I've tied my grub problem to an earlier problem I had. I've started a new thread in the Laptop forum under the title "The doers can undue - maybe." Perhaps you might look at that and give me a hand solving the bigger problem.

Thanks Bill,
