No C++ preprocessor Mandrake 10.1 ?

I have searched the development section of Mandrake 10.1 install, and found no libraries or packages pertaining to the GNU C++ Preprocesor. I cannot compile anyhting due to this obviously, I am new to the world of begging to compile on Linux. Any quick suggestions while I hunt for a C++ preprocessor instal.

Also unrelated or related comment, in the output of my ./configure file t a line reads "check whether we are using GNU C++ Compiler...no" however i clearly have it installed. Is gcc not used by default? Or is this an issue specific to my jabberd install?

Much thanks.

I'm running 10.1-OE and have no problems compiling C++ code. Run this and check your output:

$ rpm -qa | grep gcc
gcc-c++-3.4.1-4mdk
gcc-3.4.1-4mdk
libgcc1-3.4.1-4mdk
gcc-cpp-3.4.1-4mdk

Install any of the above packages that are missing.
