Nice program for voip?

Can someone advice me about a prog for voip with the following features:

- Be reasonably verbose on logging of calls and durations
- Ability to record conversations
- Sip support
- Clean and simple interface, a la kphone
- Be small

Integrate well with kde and have a win version is good but not critical.

very thanks!

Maybe it would be helpful for people to suggest any/all VoIP apps and then you can check them out. I've used gnomemeeting (recently renamed ekiga). It worked OK-ish.

I was about to say "Ekiga" too, mainly just because I don't know about too many of them. You could use Google or visit sites like IceWalkers to search for more, or check KDE's kdeapps site if you like a KDE-integrated one.

Code:
- Ability to record conversations
Bear in mind that recording a conversation without a clear permission from the person(s) you're talking to is considered illegal in many parts of the world

Dear Bruno Buys
I'll not recomend u Gnome meeting coz it is based on H.323 Protocol so u should need SIP compatible Softphone type software for ur SIP a/c which will able to work on linux envoirnment like u may find many SIP compatible softwares for windows. So I suggest u to try Googling for this if u find the right software for linux then plz also send me it's link. Thanx in advance!!!

Try out the Adminsparadise Voip PBX and Fax software

It also automagically installs sambafax, hylafax, avantfax.

Avantfax has been tweaked so that not only can you do the standard pdf and tiff but also upload practically all word, excel formats..

save yourself the time and trouble.

it does it all for you... there are screenshot previews..
flash tutorial that walk you through it.

Ekiga is SIP compatible. Gizmo Project is another Gtk based SIP phone.

For KDE integration, WengoPhone is a good one to start with. Kphone and Twinkle are other options.

ekiga

I'm trying to use Ekiga. It seems to be working but I can't figure out how to call even a local number. I see if its long distance you have to open an account to make calls. I would think if its your own house it should work????? Guess not!
