Ive got a CentOS (2.6.9-42) 4 server running.
I am trying to connect to it, via nfs, from my laptop, which runs FC6 (2.6.19-2)
I have an entry in /etc/exports on the server, similar to:
/var/www 11.22.33.44(rw)
the 11.22.33.44 is of course my laptop's actual IP address.
NFS, and all of its dependant services are running on the server.
I can mount the share using:
mount 11.22.44.33:/var/www ./mountpoint
again, 11.22.44.33 is the IP of the server, ./mountpoint is a directory created as a mount point on the laptop.
The share mounts, i can read files, i can modify files, but when i try to create, or delete files, i am given a "permission denied" error.
I wasnt aware that create and delete permissions even existed in NFS, and all of my google searching seems to tell me that they dont.
So what could the issue be? I just want to be able to easily copy files/folders from my laptop (where i do most of my development) to my web server. Is that so much to ask?
i did try to modify my fstab entry though, to see if your example helped me at all.
its currently
1.1.1.1:/var/www/ /mnt/mountpoint nfs rsize=32768,wsize=32768,user 0 0
No better
I can modify files, but i cnanot delete or create them.
