Nforce Drivers can't find Kernel Source

Hey all,

I'm trying to fix the audio on my older system. It's running an Nforce 1 mobo and there is a heavy buzz in the mic input.

It used to work just fine, and I've ruled out everything else. So, I'm attempting to install the Nvidia Nforce drivers.

I installed the Kernel-Source files for Kernel 2.6.8 (have 2.6.8-2 though), but Nvidia still can't find them.

If I point to them using the --kernel-source-path flag it doesn't seem to work either.

I'm on Debian 3.1.

Thanks,
Dan O.

Where did you get the kernel sources from? Your sources will need to match the exact version of your kernel.

Eh, nevermind.

Silly Nvidia drivers, they told me they were looking for the kernel-source, but instead they were looking for Kernel Headers.

I installed the kernel headers and it installed without a hitch.

Thanks anyway,
Dan O.

Just wondering: Did that fix your mic. buzz? ("Buzz" is most often a loose connection in the mic., not software. The loose connection lets it act like an old "crystal radio," and pick up RF signals from your computer.)
