Newbie Gnome prob

Hi I have Redhat 9 running gnome but everytime I use startx and enter the gui I get this error message.
**********
Could not look up internet address for dhcp-299-113. This will prevent GNOME from operating correctly. It may be possible to correct the problem by adding dhcp-299-113 to the file /etc/hosts
**********

thanks

my wife has windows running right now so I cant look. I think that file is just one line. Log in as root and open with a text editor /etc/hosts. Then add dhcp-299-113 to the end
