New to Torrent

I have never tried torrent before and do not have a clue what to do next. I googled for a book and found a .zip.torrent-file of it. So now I did not really know what to do with this files but I thought I might check out some torrent apps at freshmeat. I downloaded BitTorrent but I got stuck when it mentioned something about adding stuff to the browser.

I tried one more time, downloaded gnome-btdownload and tried to compile. configure ran like a charm and it even compiled. But when I tried to run it I got this:
Code:

$ gnome-btdownload
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/home/mezzymeat/program/bin/gnome-btdownload", line 4, in ?
    import BitTorrent.download, BitTorrent.bencode
  File "/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/BitTorrent/__init__.py", line 11, in ?
    app_name = _("BitTorrent")
NameError: name '_' is not defined

So, here I am. I really not want to become a regular user of torrent, just want to get this file. So is there any easy, simple program that might not be very good but enough just to get one singel file? How should I approach this problem?

Try installing and using "Azureus is a BitTorrent protocol implementation that offers multiple torrent downloads, queuing/priority systems (on torrents and files), start/stop seeding options, and instant access to numerous pieces of information about your torrents. It includes an embedded tracker that is easily set up and ready to use."
