Question New to POSTFIX


I am sure that there is a way to send an email by typing a command in a bash shell.... but I don't have a clue how to do it.... can anyone help me out?

Depends on your distro, and you haven't told.. (neither in your profile).

Most often it is done with the command 'mail'.

try 'echo "testmessage" | mail -s "testsubject" root' if you have access to the 'root' mail. otherwise, change 'root' with the username you do receive mail for.
