Question New to Linux - Running trn on Slackware

Hello. I'm pretty new to Linux and I'm trying to run trn off of a slackware (whatever the latest version is) install.

When I run it, the program displays the welcome message fine, but then it displays:

news.my_news_server.com: Unknown host.
News server news.my_news_server.com unavailable, try again later.

and then it sends me back to the prompt.

What's wrong?
