You surely have this file in a folder or, ie., on your Desktop, right?
So move your mouse pointer over it and right-click on that file.
From the incoming menu chose "Properties" and in the "Permissions" tab make sure to check the "Execute" flag then click on the "OK" button.
Now I'm pretty sure that with a simple double click the executable file will be... execute!
its not on my desktop. just in my downloads. i open it it takes to a list to open with. don't no which one to use to open file.
Ok.
If you use Firefox to download the file right-click on the downloaded file and chose "open containing folder".
Now that a file manager is open showing you your file you can follow what I wrote before.
Period.
what is it with you high tech people. that you cant explain something in plain English.i red your last reply. i right click download. it opens with open or open file. nothing like you said in last reply.
russiangary,
Lighten up, his English in this thread is better than yours. Is Russian your native language, or does your LQ user name have some other significance?
@russiangary all of above people provided this code for to run it on Terminal. you can find terminal in Applications>Accessories> or find it by just surfing through tabs, i am sure you will find it, just copy this code and paste it on terminal window and it will ask you a password from which you have logged on and for the rest of the instruction refer to the above posts. I hope this will work for you.
Regards
Fawad Ali
