new fonts in firefox

hi,
is there any way i can install new fonts in mozilla firefox 1.0.6. i want to be able to see webpages that are not in english using the font that the webpages are built for. for example, i need to see my native home land websites which publish their pages in my native homeland font. i have the required fonts and i also did mkfontdir in /usr/share/fonts/<myfontsdir> and it showed no error. do i need to do the same for ..firefox/res/fonts ???

The simplest way of installing Truetype fonts is just copying them to the ~/.fonts/ directory (create if it doesn't exist) and run fc-cache -v.

You should use

Code:

xfontsel

to see if the fonts are correctly installed in your X-server. There is no special action need for firefox to use those fonts. Perhaps you need to change the encoding from menu (View-->Character Encoding), or select these fonts in Preferences for the pages written in your native language.
