Networking Setup KDE

On KDE in Kubuntu, when I go to the network configuration i can't get my adapter (ra0) enabled. I click enable and it says "enabling" then, for a split second it says its enabled and then it goes back to disabled. Does anyone know anyway to fix this or a way to get my ra0 interface enabled on default? Any help is appreciated to my noobiness.

..hmm.. what happens when you run sudo ifconfig ra0? does it have an IP already? if it does, you should be connected.

If not, try running dhcpcd ra0 (as root).

this command might also be dhclient (or dhcpclient, it's been so long since i've used a Debian based system..)

it has an IP(192.168.0.1, im on a dchp network) but it still doesnt work. the problem is just that the KDE network config program wont enable the device. is there some program or something that can uhh i guess u could say overpower my KDE config tool so that i can enable it and connect thru a different program? ive tried using ndiswrapper but that didnt help cuz it just has u use the KDE one in the end. BTW thx for all ur help so far
