Network mapping program?

I'm looking for a network mapping program similar to Netdisco. Netdisco wasn't on my installation because of a known as of yet still unfixed bug. I have searched till I'm blue, but I can't find anything that is open that will do it. I imagine there must be some software out there that can watch packets and determine network configuration from the data and represent it in a nice graphical format. Anyone?

I'm not looking for something to draw out the network with, but instead something that figures out what is out there on the network.
