Network Manager pptp vpn working only with roaming mode

I have this tiny problem that hutrs my eyeball...

If I set my eth0 to a static IP my i dont have wired connection in my network manager. This problem vanishes if i switch to roaming mode...with my internet connection.

Anyway without the wired connection I get an error in syslog ... that this bugy program cant find a wired network...and vpn wont connect.

I quick fixed this "bug" by setting to roaming mode and setting my eth0 in terminal. And I have to do it every few minutes coz my eth0 config gets changed by the network manager..feature.

What I tryed:

removing .../interfaces...
restarting network manager during the procedure
