network aliases range question

I need to add ip aliases on SUSE9.

On Red Hat I created icfg-eth0-range0: file
IPADDR_START=10.0.5.1
IPADDR_END=10.0.5.10
CLONENUM START=0

It works great.

On Suse network configuration has different structure.
I created the same file in /etc/sysconfig/network when I restart the network
service : command CLONENUM not found message appear.

Help.
Thanks.
Michael.
