netscape plugin --- application/x-mplayer2
Does anyone know how I can get a plugin that works as if it was a Windows Media Player - plugin? In this case x-mplayer2!

Well, I would have to bye it then! No good!

What you want to do is go to Google and search for mplayer. Or, go to www.mozilla.org and click on "plug-in FAQs." There you can see all the information that you need to get Netscape, Mozilla, and the new Firebird properly set up.

http://mplayerplug-in.sf.net with mplayer set up correctly this will cater for the mime type you are asking about.
