I am porting one APP from unix to linux, in our APP, it call netdir_getbyname,netdir_free and rpcb_getaddr for RPC services, yet, on Linux, we did not find these functions, are there any substitutes for this functions on Linux? what I shall do?
Just wanted to mention another nasty surprise from Linux: nslookup (or dig as Linux prefers) do not look in the /etc/hosts files even when /etc/nsswitch.conf specifies it. This suggests to me that the underlying get*_by* functions probably don't either. Make sure you keep this in mind.
