net-snmp localhost

Hi ,
I have installed net-snmp in my linux machine. But if I execute the following command

"snmpget -v 2c -c public localhost SNMPv2-MIB::sysUpTime.0"

I am getting the error.

"Timeout: No Response from localhost."

I am not sure if this is a firewall issue or a configuration issue.

regards
Suman

You might want to maybe show us your firewall and configuration then, no? It shouldn't be a firewall issue, lo should always be permitted. If snmpd even running?
