Net Radio Program?
:Pengy:
:newbie: Hey everyone, I just sucessfully installed Mandrake 9.2 onto my machine and everything seems to be running excellent! I had a ATI Radeon All-In-Wonder TV card that I was use to watching TV with on my computer but it got to distracting whenever I was typing up papers. So I took it out and bought myself an ATI Radeon 9000 Pro off E-Bay. :D Well anyway here is my question, I was use to listining to radio stations off the net with windows media player. But for a while I tried to see if there was a program similiar to that that would stream live music off the net. I currently downloaded and installed RealPlayer 8, but some sites want you to suscribe to thier services for live feeds . There was also the new version of WinAmp that has the ability to listen to the radio. Is there a version of WinAmp or other App that would used just to listen into net radio stations. Any input would be greatly appreciated. :study: |
XMMS
It should already be installed. |
Hi.
1. Install XMMS (if not already installed) and any plugins. 2. Download the Equalizer Presets (Optional, but very nice to have). To install the new presets use: Code:
gunzip -c winamp_presets.gz > ~/.xmms/eq.preset 4. Play. Optional: You can get some Winamp Skins, and with a new skin you can make XMMS to look like WinAmp 5. Skins ONLY for your user account? place them in: Code:
/home/<user>/.xmms/Skins Code:
/usr/share/xmms/Skins Classical: http://64.236.34.196:80/stream/1006 Trance: http://64.236.34.196:80/stream/1003 The 80's: http://64.236.34.196:80/stream/1040 Jazz: http://64.236.34.196:80/stream/1005 Mix: http://64.236.34.196:80/stream/1038 Hope that helps. |
