Purchased a new CanoScan LiDE 110 because it suppose to be completely supported on the genesys version 1.0-62 but my depo only has 1.0-21 available through Synaptic downloads. So I keep digging and found on the Sane-git Access for sane-genesys on the developers web site
http://git.debian.org/?p=sane/sane-backends.git
But is all program code and I do not know how to install them or even if I should, or if it is required to get this scanner to even work correctly.
Is it possible to manually compile the updates from this site on my system and install them in order to properly run my CanoSCan LiDE 110?
I running
Linux version 2.6.33.7-pclos6.bfs (root@localhost.localdomain) (gcc version 4.4.1 (GCC) ) #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Oct 21 22:42:28 CDT 2010
Found some instructions on installing CanoScan LiDE 100 for Ubunto members but nothing for pclos users, so I am hoping someone here might have some ideas.
I have already put in a request with my depo to get a new update, but I do not know how long that will take. It could be anywhere from a few days to a few years and I only got 28 days left to return the scanner for a full refund.
So if any members, could offer any insight, it would be greatly appreciated.
thank you.
Sincerely
