Need to install "Make" for Slax HD installation
hi everyone. i just installed slax onto my hd in a thinkpad t21. i was looking to install slack-get when i discovered that there is no "make" command. are you kidding me!?!?! this seems a bit important from my point of view.
in any case, i found this thread on making tar.gz files into modules: http://slax.linux-live.org/doc_modules.php i would rather install "make" if at all possible. if anyone has any suggestions (i've googled this one to death) or knows where i can look for more info i would appreciate it. TIA :) |
Have not used slax for awhile but I think you will have to go the makeing of the module route.
Once created you should be able to move it into the modules folder and reboot... I think... well, that is how it was done with the live cd... you had to mount the .iso make your changes then burn a new one... but you should not have to if it's in it's own partition. KC |
what is the name of the app that i would be looking for in order to convert it into a module (and subsequently reboot in order to use 'make')?

This Direct from Thomas should explain more:
http://slax.linux-live.org/forum/vie...t=make+command As in your link above this command should convert .tgz apps to modules for slax... tgz2mo application.tgz application.mo Plus there are quite a few apps already for slax as well... so you may not need to do any conversion... http://slax.linux-live.org/modules.php KC |
