Need Ideas for setting up email scanner and spam filter on SuSE9

Hey All,

I'm attempting to set up a SuSE 9 Linux server to scan email for virus's using a command line scanner, as well as use it for spam fiiltering using spam assassin to then go to a novell groupwise Mail server. If anyone is willing, I need to get an Idea how I can impliment this. The next big hurtle is that Im very new to linux and I am basically learning everything as I do this, so any documentation, or HOWTO's that are easier to understand, would be apprecated.

Thank you

Read the documentation on Postfix (if you choose postfix) and Spamassassin to create a mail gateway/filter. The only docs needed for the setup are the manuals from their respective web sites and the document linked in my sig below.. If you get stuck, post your problem and we can help you out. I have done several mail filter setups using postfix and SA and can honestly say it wasn't that bad. Sendmail is a little more tricky, but Postfix is a breeze. As far as the Anti-virus, there are several plug-ins for the Postfix/Spamassassin setup to handle that.
