Need help with gain install with rh8

Hi,

I have Mozilla and the previous version of Gaim used to work but now doesn't.

I have downloaded .72 rpm for RH8 but at root in the GUI terminal after -Fvh and -i, I get the message, must have gtkspell and libgtkspell.

I downloaded these 3 rpms.. gtkspell-2.0.4 fr1.i386.rpm, the same with src, and another with devel.

Can anyone tell me what files I should unpack and in what order as it seems no matter what I do, I still the the message that it needs those two files although I thought I installed them.

BTW. I do get a .. warning gtkspell etc:V3 DSA Signature: NO KEY, key id e42d etc.

Thanks

Well to begin with. Don't install the src and devel rpms. You don't need them. Use apt for this.

go here: http://apt.freshrpms.net/

d/l the rpm for RH8

open a terminal and type (as root)

#rpm -ivh apt.blah.rpm

then

#apt-get update

#apt-get install gaim

That will handle all the deps for you.

after you get that done, issue:

#apt-get install synaptic

#synaptic

It will open a gui pkg manager for you and you can upgrade, install remove packages at your whim

Good Luck!

The packaage is Gaim not Gain...he misspelled on the title. And if you are talking about GAIM (with an M) then I would be interested to read any spyware related docs or articles on it. Please post.
