Need help with Adobe Acrobat Reader in Mandrake 9.2

Greetings. I've read a number of posts regarding Adobe Acrobat Reader. I am using Mozilla Firebird as my primary browser. I want to install Reader, but I can't get it to work. I've downloaded both the tar.gz (from Adobe) and the RPM from gurulabs.

I suspect the RPM is the easier to install - and I have installed it. But I can't get it to work when I click on PDF files in Firebird. I have also tried downloading a PDF file and opening it. But I can't find the path to the Adobe directory after I've installed the RPM - any ideas? Help is much appreciated.

The binary is called "acroread". If you do
Code:
find / -name acroread
it will returns you where it's.
Regards.

Hi.

If you installed "KDE" during your Mandrake installation, you can use Konqueror
as a helper application (it has support for pdf files).

Go to "Edit" then "Preferences"
Under "Category" find "Helper Applications" Click on "New Type..."

Enter this information:

MIME Type: application/pdf
Description: Adobe Acrobat
Extension: .pdf

When you see the option "When a file of this type is encountered"
click on "Open it with" type in "konqueror" (without the quotes).

Put a check mark on "Always ask me before handling files of this type".
You can uncheck this after everything is working.

You can do the samething with any other program you want Mozilla to use.
For more plugin options checkout the Mozilla Plugin Support page.
