Need help using logkeys

I've been on dozens of sites but it's all a foreign language to me. Is there another way of running logkeys than through the terminal?
If not, below is what comes up when I run it through the terminal:
Usage: logkeys [OPTION]...
Log depressed keyboard keys.

-s, --start start logging keypresses
-m, --keymap=FILE use keymap FILE
-o, --output=FILE log output to FILE [/var/log/logkeys.log]
-u, --us-keymap use en_US keymap instead of configured default
-k, --kill kill running logkeys process
-d, --device=FILE input event device [/dev/input/eventX]
-?, --help print this help
--export-keymap=FILE export configured keymap to FILE and exit
--no-func-keys don't log function keys, only character keys

Examples: logkeys -s -m mylang.map -o ~/.secret/keys.log
logkeys -s -d /dev/input/event6
logkeys -k

logkeys version: 0.1.0

Can someone please give me simple step-by-step instructions of what I need to put in to start logging keystrokes and what I do to view them.

The Google Code site where it originates has documentation and it clearly states how to start the application?..

That same site shows you how to use an init script and suggests how to start it from your Desktop Environment (startup applications).

In a terminal window run 'umask 0077; touch ~/.imloggingkeystrokes && logkeys -s -o ~/.imloggingkeystrokes', then open another and run 'tail -f ~/.imloggingkeystrokes' to watch output scroll by.

* BTW I don't think you should be logging keystrokes. It's just a sign of your distrust. Sometimes people will mistake technology as a means to help repair things. It most likely will not. And if you don't (want to) understand this distrust / invasion of privacy issue then imagine it's somebody else logging your keys.
