Need Help Deciphering MPlayer Error During Make

I have never had a problem installing MPlayer before, but now I am. I configure and when I run Make, I get:

vo_ivtv.c: In function 'ivtv_reset':
vo_ivtv.c:79: error: storage size of 'sd' isn't known
vo_ivtv.c:80: error: storage size of 'sd1' isn't known
vo_ivtv.c:85: error: 'IVTV_IOC_STOP_DECODE' undeclared (first use in this function)
vo_ivtv.c:85: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
vo_ivtv.c:85: error: for each function it appears in.)
vo_ivtv.c:95: error: 'IVTV_IOC_START_DECODE' undeclared (first use in this function)
make[1]: *** [vo_ivtv.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/robert/Downloads/MPlayer/Source/MPlayer-1.0rc1/libvo'
make: *** [libvo/libvo.a] Error 2

Does anyone have any idea as to what I'm missing? I would appreciate any help someone has to offer.

Which mplayer are you trying to install? rc1 / rc2 / ??

If it is rc1, try downloading rc2, that should solve the problem.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: I just noticed you are using rc1 (.../MPlayer/Source/MPlayer-1.0rc1/...). This is an older version, like I said rc2 should solve your problem.

Okay, I realised I had tried to install rc1. However, I got the same error with rc2. Any further ideas would be very welcome.

Hi again,

Is ivtv auto detected by mplayer or are you providing it as an option? If the latter is the case try without and see if it is detected.

This does seem to be an issue with several "answers", although some don't get it to work.....

Try feeding your search engine with: vo_ivtv.c:95: error: 'IVTV_IOC_START_DECODE' undeclared (first use in this function)

Hope this helps.
