Need Help Deciding UID/GID range for Samba Server
We have existing samba member Server w uid/gid range of 10000-20000.
It was changed it to a PDC and the UID/GID Mappings were switched to 16777216-33554431.
Is there any reason the range is 10xxx when a member server and 16xxxxxx when its a PDC?
Can the UID/GID range stay 10000-20000 on a PDC? Which UID range is recommended for a PDC on a windows domain?
Even after the change - New Users/Groups created while still end up in the 10xxx range .
