need a bit of help connecting with my myth client to mythserver (backend)

Hi all!

i have just finished (it took a few days...

) to setup my mythtv server (frontend and backend) and installed a pc client. i tried both a live knoppmyth frontend cd and a full ubuntu myth frontend install. on both installations i fail to understand how excatly to connect to the backend. i get a setup screen with no place to choose the ip of the backend and then it says it cant connect to the backend, can anyone explain how to connect to the backend from a client machine?

Looks like you have to setup your mysql database on the backend to use the network. Also run myth-setup to then use the network IP instead of localhost (127.0.0.1).

Make sure your machine has a static IP address on your network.
