Sounds like whichever user is trying to access that folder does not have permission.
What are the permissions on the folders/files and which user needs the access?

You should also check your log files to see if they have more detailed info.
(Sorry haven't tinkered with my Nagios setup in a while :( )

Good day,

It definitely seems like you are having an issue with permissions. Hopefully your server has not been compromised either.

In the meantime post the output of the following:
Code:

ls -l  /nagios/cgi-bin//status.cgi

This will give you more information regarding the particular file.

P.S) Unfortunately I am no Guru. There may be more wiser replies to come ;)

What distribution are you using? It is possible with RH/Fedora that you are bumping into a SELinux error - and may have something in the /var/logs about it.
