I think I've got it

Howdy again. Okay, I tried some things to change performance and it appears to have fixed my distorted preview of livetv on the program guide. I'm not sure which one did it, so I'm going to list everything I did.

In my xorg.conf file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf). I modified the modules section to look like this.
Section "Module"
# already had the glx and added everything else
Load "glx"
Load "dbe"
Load "v4l"
Load "extmod"
Load "type1"
Load "freetype"
EndSection

In mythfrontend under setup -> tv settings -> general playback. I enabled openGL vertical synch for timing I also set the PIP Video location to the upper right.

Let me know if this works. I did one or two other things, but it seems totally unrelated so I'm not going to list it, but will if you still have trouble. Good luck, hope it works! :-)

Unhappy Tried fix, still corrupted

I am running Myth .20 on FC6 with an ATI X850. I tried modifying my xorg.conf file with the settings you suggested.

Code:
[mythtv@myth ~]$ cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf

# Xorg configuration created by pyxf86config

Section "ServerLayout"
        Identifier "Default Layout"
        Screen 0 "aticonfig-Screen[0]" 0 0
        InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard"
EndSection

Section "Files"
EndSection

Section "Module"
        Load "glx"
        Load "dbe"
        Load "v4l"
        Load "extmod"
        Load "type1"
        Load "freetype"
EndSection

Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier "Keyboard0"
        Driver "kbd"
        Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
        Option "XkbLayout" "us"
EndSection

Section "Monitor"
        Identifier "aticonfig-Monitor[0]"
        Option "VendorName" "ATI Proprietary Driver"
        Option "ModelName" "Generic Autodetecting Monitor"
        Option "DPMS" "true"
EndSection

Section "Device"
        Identifier "aticonfig-Device[0]"
        Driver "fglrx"
        Option "TVFormat" "NTSC-M"
EndSection

Section "Screen"
        Identifier "aticonfig-Screen[0]"
        Device "aticonfig-Device[0]"
        Monitor "aticonfig-Monitor[0]"
        DefaultDepth 24
        SubSection "Display"
                Viewport 0 0
                Depth 24
                Modes "640x480"
        EndSubSection
EndSection

Section "Extensions"
        Option "Composite" "Disable"
EndSection
Along with the most recent ATI Linux driver (8.35.5), this is working well for everything except the PIP in the guide section. Can you let me know what the other steps were to resolve this? Was this on the SVN or still on .20? Are you using the ATI drivers or something else?

Thanks.
