I have recently installed MythTV on a spare computer to be a mini HTPC. I have having problems finding a place to specify "library" directories which contain my Music Videos Photos. MythTV only seems to include Television support. I was under the impression Myth was much more than that. Any info?
There is two parts to mythtv, a frontend, and a backend, are you running both of them? The backend is where you setup the directories that hold all your music, videos and tv tuner cards etc...Also make sure mysql is up and running, and that you have the database setup before starting you backend.
To start the backend type this at the command line.
In the frontend on the main screen there should be a heading called 'Setup', in there will be headings called 'Audio Settings' 'Image Settings' 'Music Settings 'Video Settings' etc. Here you can put the paths to your library directories.
This setting does not exist. I go to, Multimedia > MythTV Frontend. There is Watch TV, Media Library, Manager Recordings, Information Cneter, and Utilities/Setup. In Utilities/Setup there is nothing pertaining to the above stated settings. Only General Appearance, Screen Setup Wixzard, TV settings and Xbox Settings. None of those settings seems to have anything for the library.
