MySQL Data Directory

I recently had a hard drive/OS issue which resulted in me having to get a new HD. THe position I am in now is I need to move the mySQL data from the old drive, to the primary drive.

Does anyone know if its possible to just move the mySQL data directory over? Or do I need to run some kind of inport utility?

If you have the same version of mysql installed then it should be ok just to copy it over.
